Walter Hugo resurrects near-forgotten 19th century studio techniques to reanimate the traditional
portrait with unpredictable results. Each unique image is painstakingly constructed on glass plates,
with sitters from London's creative community entering his room-sized camera for the long exposure time. A film by Carlos Carneiro and Steven McInerney. Produced by London Sessions Productions. -

Our aim is to create a rich film culture in the London borough of Hackney by creating a platform for local filmmakers and audio-visual artists to have their work showcased to the community and the wider audience of London. Hackney Film Festival has been established for the benefit of the public through an annual event of film screenings, live audio-visual shows, Q&As and workshops.

THE DREAM MAKER
In a world where dreams are mass manufactured and sold in the form of an audio tape, the consumer aurally taps into the pre-recorded lucid experience as a form of entertainment or pleasure. This short film follows an elite dream maker through the programming of a dream. Delving deep into his psyche we are revealed a chilling vision of the world in which he is a part of. Shot entirely on one roll of super 8 for straight 8 2009.

A NEXUS RETROSPECTIVE AT ICA
Emily Howells and I directed and animated the intro for the Nexus retrospective that screened as
part of the london short film festival programme at the ICA on 12 january 2010. This was the second time that Emily and I have collaborated on a project together. Emily created titles for my film THE DREAM MAKER which premiered at the rushes soho shorts festival last year. -
BEHIND THE SCENES ON THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM
The official 'making of' documentary of the lord of the rings fan film that premiered at the 2009 Sci-fi London Film Festival. This half hour documentary goes to great length in uncovering how the film was made on a micro-budget of £5,000, by the fans, for the fans.

CIRCLE TRAPS - MIRRORS & MONUMENTS
The official video for Mirrors & Monuments by CIRCLE TRAPS. Shot on super 8 in Finland, Ireland and the UK, the film embodies the elements of fire, wind, water and earth, using organic film flashes and analogue feedback to create the visual aesthetic for the track.
